3 MARKETING HACKS - That No One Else Is Using!
The following hacks work because almost no other firm is using them. Pick one, run it properly, and see what happens before you add another
1. The "10-Minute Ask a Lawyer" Micro-Booking
"Schedule a consultation" is a bigger ask than it sounds. To someone who isn't sure they even have a real legal issue yet, it implies commitment, cost, and a problem serious enough to justify a lawyer's time. A lot of real leads talk themselves out of clicking that button before they ever reach it.
The hack: offer a much smaller front door. A 10-minute "Ask a Lawyer" slot — no case review, no formal engagement, just a quick answer to one question. Lower the stakes, and more people walk through.
Why this works: Commitment thresholds matter enormously at the top of the funnel. Someone unsure whether their situation even needs a lawyer will book 10 minutes far more readily than 45. And once they've had one good, low-pressure interaction with you, the jump to "become an actual client" is a much smaller leap than the original cold ask ever was.
How to start: Add a second, smaller booking option next to your existing consultation link — same calendar, shorter slot, plainly labeled ("Quick Question? Book 10 Minutes"). Don't bury it - make it as visible as your main CTA.
2. Create Content From the Question Before the Question
Most firms create content around what prospects ask: How much will this cost? How long will my case take? Do I need an attorney?
Useful—but predictable.
Instead, ask your intake team: “What do prospects almost always misunderstand before they call us?”
That's where some of your best content is hiding.
A divorce attorney might write: “The Bank Account Mistake People Make BEFORE Filing for Divorce.”
An estate planning attorney: “Your Kids May Not Actually Get the House. Here's Why.”
A PI attorney: “Before You Give the Insurance Company a Statement, Read This.”
You're not simply answering questions anymore. You're identifying a problem before the prospect even knows to ask about it.
That's content people click.
3. Build a “Send This to Someone” Page
Here's an interesting test: Look at your website and ask: Is there anything here someone would actually send to a friend?
Create one incredibly useful page for the exact situation your ideal client faces. Not a sales page. A resource.
“The First 24 Hours After a Car Accident: 7 Things to Do.”
“The Divorce Conversation Checklist.”
“What to Do When a Parent Dies: A 10-Step Guide.”
Make it genuinely excellent (We produce this free for our clients & put your firm's branding on it). Then give visitors an obvious button:
Click ► SEND THIS TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS IT
You've just turned your website visitors, former clients, referral partners, and social followers into a distribution network.
Useful gets shared. Advertising usually doesn't.
BONUS HACK: Mine Your “Almost Clients”
We’ve mentioned this one previously, but it bears repeating
Your next client may already be sitting in your CRM.
Pull every qualified prospect from the past 6–12 months who contacted your firm but never hired you. Ignore the obvious bad fits and focus on people who were interested but went quiet, delayed the decision, or simply weren't ready.
Then send a ridiculously simple message:
“Hi Sarah—you reached out to us a few months ago about [issue]. I wanted to check back in and see how things turned out. Did you ever get this resolved?”
That's it.
Don't pitch. Don't send a brochure. Don't immediately ask for another consultation.
You're simply reopening a conversation they already started.
Before spending another $5,000 finding strangers, spend 30 minutes talking to people who already found you.
The Best Marketing Hack? Stop Wasting the Marketing You Already Have.
Law firms often assume more clients = more leads. Sometimes it does
But growth can also come from doing more with the attention, prospects, client knowledge, reputation, and opportunities you already paid to acquire.
Before You Start:
Three hacks, one rule: Implement just ONE fully before touching a second. The firms that get real lead volume out of tactics like these are the ones who commit, measure, and adjust — not the ones running all three halfheartedly at once.
